Pharmasave is a proud National Partner of the Canadian Cancer Society

Show your support for Canadians affected by cancer through their spring Daffodil Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LANGLEY, BC, April 1, 2021

With nearly one in two Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, cancer affects us all in some way. To show support for those living with the disease, for the fifth year in a row, Pharmasave will partner with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) for their annual Daffodil Campaign.

For more than 70 years, the Canadian Cancer Society has celebrated the Daffodil Campaign in spring. The daffodil is resilient, it is the first flower to bloom in the spring and for those living with cancer, it is a symbol of strength, courage and hope. As we begin to emerge from a very difficult year, we invite Canadians to rally around this symbol to provide hope to people affected by cancer. “Donating to the Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign – especially during a pandemic – is the most impactful way to improve the quality of life of people affected by all cancers across the country and bring them hope,” says Susanna Tyson, Director, Corporate Partnerships for the Canadian Cancer Society. “Thanks to the generous support of corporate partners like Pharmasave, we can continue to fund groundbreaking research and a support system for people affected by cancer.”

From April 1 to 30, daffodil pins will be available for sale at Pharmasave’s more than 750 locations across the country. Money raised will go towards funding groundbreaking research and support services for people affected by cancer. Since the start of the pandemic, the Canadian Cancer Society has helped 15.9 million people access vital health information about cancer on cancer.ca, helping people better manage life with cancer and answer questions they may have.

Pharmasave has been a proud partner of the Canadian Cancer Society for five years and during this time has raised more than $480,000.

“From coast to coast, giving back to the community is a core value at Pharmasave,” says Carmen Churcott, Pharmasave National’s Chief Executive Officer. Each Pharmasave store operates independently to serve its individual community, providing programs and services tailored to meet the needs of their customers. “Pharmasave proudly supports what matters in communities because communities matter to Pharmasave,” says Churcott.

This spring, Pharmasave encourages Canadians to make a donation and proudly wear a daffodil pin as a sign of their support for people living with cancer. When daffodils bloom, hope grows.
