Polarized Sunglasses: Why You Should Wear Them

During the sunny seasons you might get into the habit of wearing sunglasses to shade your eyes and protect them from harmful UV rays.

Normal tinted sunglasses provide you only protection against harmful UV rays. Whereas polarized sunglasses contain an inbuilt laminated filter, which blocks harsh UV rays from the sun as well as reduces the effect of intense glare, which can be a cause of vision loss.

Advantages polarized sunglasses have over regular sunglasses include:

• Reduced glare
• Clearer vision
• Better colour perception
• Less eye fatigue

By removing the horizontally reflected light, the polarized chemical filter eliminates any glare but preserves colour, depth, and clarity. This trait can make looking at LCD screens (like ATMs) difficult at certain angles, so you might have to remove your polarized sunglasses to see them clearly.
