Liposomal GABA. How can it help you?

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a naturally occurring amino acid that works as a neurotransmitter in your brain. When GABA attaches to a protein in your brain known as a GABA receptor, it produces a calming effect. This can help with feelings of anxiety, stress, and fear. It may also help prevent seizures.

GABA is available in several dosage forms such as capsules, gummies, and liquids. Liposomal GABA is a liquid.

Liposomes are tiny phospholipid bubbles with a bilayer structure very similar to that of our cell membranes. Liposomes turn out to be ideal carriers for therapeutic molecules, highly effective at delivering nutrients directly into the cell. Liposomes are highly biocompatible, and they are capable of holding either water-soluble or fat-soluble molecules.

The advantage of taking Liposomal GABA is it is highly bio-available and works much more quickly than the other dosage forms mentioned above. It is especially effective against anxiety when taken with L-Theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm without a sedative effect.

There are few food sources of GABA. The only foods which contain GABA are fermented ones, such as kimchi, miso, and tempeh.

Speak to the Live Well team at Pharmasave Summerland about how you can benefit from Liposomal GABA.
