Pharmacist – Brockville, ON

Brockville Pharmasave has a current opportunity available for a full-time staff pharmacist. Our close-knit team is committed to looking after the healthcare needs of our community. Our busy pharmacy has a mostly senior patient population.

Brockville, ON is a small town on the beautiful St. Lawrence River,  only 45 minutes to both Kingston and Ottawa. Sailing, kayaking and boating on the river are popular pastimes, as are walking and biking on the beautiful Brock Trail. Brockville is a great place to live, and the community is eligible for the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness program.

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

As a member of our pharmacy team you would be responsible to:

  • Accurately review and dispense prescription medications in compliance with provincial and federal regulations
  • Provide professional advice on the safe use of prescription and over-the-counter medications
  • Counsel patients on medication therapy, potential side effects, and drug interactions
  • Administer injections and immunizations as authorized under Ontario regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Maintain proper records, documentation, and patient profiles
  • Ensure compliance with all standards set by the Ontario College of Pharmacists and other regulatory bodies
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring workflow efficiency and accuracy perform Medschecks
  • Promote health and wellness services, including medication reviews and chronic disease management programs
  • Experience with Kroll pharmacy software would be an asset
  • Note: At present we do not offer compounding or administer methadone in our store

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Injection certification and authorization to administer vaccines (preferred/required depending on role)
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care practices and relevant legislation in Ontario
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in retail pharmacy is preferred

Pharmacy Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Sunday and all statutory holidays – closed
