Travel Health Assessments
Travel Health assessments are recommended for all travelers.
Visits include a consultation with a pharmacist who has completed extended training in travel health. They are also a member with the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM).
They will:
- Review health history, previous vaccination history, and travel itinerary.
- Give health advice.
- Discuss the recommended/required vaccines and medications.
Vaccinations can be administered after the assessment is complete.
It is recommended that patients book an appointment 4-6 weeks before traveling.
Pharmasave Qualicum is officially designated by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the World Health Organization as a Yellow Fever Vaccination Center. Only officially designated facilities are authorized to administer this vaccine which is required for travel to many countries in South America and Africa.
