What do you need to know about getting a flu shot?

The most effective way to decrease complications and reduce the impact of the flu is to get a flu shot. Health Canada recommends everyone 6 months and older should get the annual flu vaccine as soon as it is available because it takes about two weeks after your flu shot for the protective antibodies to develop in the body.

Pharmasave Milligan Drive is able to immunize those 5 years of age and older, provided the child has received a flu vaccine in the past. Get your flu shot early to protect yourself before flu viruses begin spreading in your community.

It is highly advisable to book an appointment – as patients with appointments are taken before walk-ins:
- Options to book your appointment:
  - PREFERRED METHOD: To schedule your appointment online, please click here ***Please select and book the appropriate vaccine, based on your age group***
    - Booking online (using GOOGLE CHROME as your browser) is the preferred method as it reduces the amount of time needed in-store (as all forms are filled out online) – making it safer for everyone entering the store for their flu shot.

- - - Option 2: Call the store at 403-982-7663 to make an appointment for a flu shot.

- - - If you do NOT book online – you will be required to fill out a flu consent form prior to your appointment and bring it with you fully completed.

- - - Staff and community members who aren’t feeling well, are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, have travelled the last 14 days, or have been in close contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter the pharmacy.
