Hello!  I’m Merv Bashforth, Owner and Prescribing Pharmacist for Pharmasave Jasper.  I’ve been a pharmacist for over 30 years.  My focus has always been on you your primary health care needs. During my career I’ve operated independent pharmacies in Hinton and now Jasper.  With the ability to assess and prescribe for chronic conditions and minor ailments I have years of experience and expertise.  I’m pretty enthusiastic about many things and I like to bring that into our pharmacy.  I’ve been lucky enough in the past to act as President of the Alberta College of Pharmacists,  serve on the provincial Ministers Advisory Committee For Health, and contribute as a member on the executive board of the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce. On my days off I love to mountain bike in the summer and ski in the winter, with a few heli-skiing trips added in to make it exciting.

Hey, you! I’m Laurie-Ell Bashforth, Owner of Pharmasave Jasper and in charge of Human Resources. Really, I’m the “girl Friday,” efficient and faithful, with my hands in all aspects of our business.  I don’t believe women (or anyone for that matter) should ever try to “have it all,” but I do believe we should, and can, have what’s important to us.  And the stuff that matters most to me is: running a joyful business that makes a difference in people’s lives; my children and their families, my husband and business partner; health and happiness. I’ve built a life around these things and the people that matter to me.  When you walk into our store and talk with me or any of our team, my hope is that you feel you matter too.  Because you do.  We see you. And you matter.

Kamusta!  Loida Santiago is Pharmasave Jasper’s Pharmacy Technician. You’ll usually find her behind the pharmacy counter working on patient dosettes and med packs, accessing your medication information, grabbing the prescription refills that are ready for you (so you can quickly get on your way), and generally working side by side with our Pharmacist to give you the best patient experience you require.  Loida is highly respected in our community. The first thing you’ll notice when you meet her is her warm and generous smile.  This by the way, sums up Loida in a nutshell.  Warm and generous.   She’s full of life and joy, volunteering in community events, travelling to distant places with her friends, all while sippin’ on Tim Horton’s Ice Capp’s.  We’re incredibly grateful she’s part of our team.

Hello! Bonjour! Kamusta! Pryvit! Erik Cotorno is the Front Store Lead for Pharmasave Jasper.  He’s usually the first friendly face you’ll see when you enter our store.  Erik ensures seamless customer experience throughout the store as well as receiving inventory and ensuring products are in stock at all times.  If you’ve ever spoken to Erik you’ll know how much he loves languages.  He amazes us with how many ways he can say, “Hello” and “Goodbye.”  Erik’s genuine interest in our customers is.  Outside of work Erik likes good food, vintage perfumes, and he loves to sing!  Check him out on YouTube (redd2147).

Dr. Courtney Leschyshyn is our second Prescribing Pharmacist on staff.  Graduating with her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan in 2022 (go Huskies!), she’s brought a fresh perspective into our practice.  Courtney shares her knowledge and expertise with patients in a genuine and respectful way.  She’s loved by our local patients.   We appreciate Courtney because she adds to the fun factor at the store.  You’re sure to hear the country music playing when Courtney’s working! When she’s not in the store, her adventurous side takes over.  She loves to travel, experience new things, and spend time with people she loves.  We’re grateful to have this leading woman as part of our team.

Ray DeVera is one of our Sales Associates, and at times our handyman (when Merv’s not around).  As well as being a loyal employee, he’s a devoted husband and father.  Ray has been with Pharmasave Jasper for 7 years.  During that time he’s gained valuable knowledge that he passes on to our customers when they have questions.  When Ray’s not working for Pharmasave you’ll find him behind the counter at Tim Horton’s.  He’s a genuine service industry guy, greeting you with a smile and helping you with anything you need.

Jun Catanyag is a Sales Associate for Pharmasave Jasper. Friendly and helpful, Jun will go out of his way to assist you.  His dedication to his family and work is what we admire most about him.  When working, Jun adds to the playful factor in the store, always willing to smile for a social media “selfie” when needed.  Check out our IG, you might see him!
