Breast Pump Rental

The Medela Symphony Hospital-Grade Breastpump

If a baby is in NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), or is unable to breastfeed effectively, if the lactating parent is having trouble making quite enough milk, breast pump rental can be an invaluable tool to help breastfeeding get off to a good start!

For daily use – Double pumping

The Symphony is a double-sided hospital-grade electric breast pump and is effective for frequent, long-term pumping.  It is quiet and very adjustable, to make pumping as comfortable as possible. To rent a pump from Pharmasave Terrace, you will need a driver’s license or BCID and a VISA or MasterCard.

The cost of renting a breast pump is:

  • Daily:            $10 ($30 minimum)
  • Weekly:        $40
  • Monthly:      $125
  • 3 Months:    $300

You will also need to purchase a milk-collection kit (the plastic bottles, tubes and flanges which actually catch the milk).  These are $79.99 (double-sided) and can be used with any Medela breast pump.

The Medela Symphony is:

  • Practical: Safe and easy to use.
  • Efficient: Pump more breastmilk in less time.
  • Safe: Based on years of research and tests.
  • Flexible: Adapts to individual needs.

Natural Pumping with 2-Phase Expression
With the help of the University of Western Australia, Medela developed the unique 2-Phase Expression Technology, which imitates the natural sucking pattern of babies at the mother’s breast.  This stimulates the flow of milk, meaning that more breastmilk can be pumped in less time, a fact which studies and hospitals have confirmed.

The Symphony breast pump ensures that you can pump breastmilk comfortably thanks to its special Comfort Flow Zone. This is particularly gentle on sensitive breast tissue.  This makes it ideal for expressing breastmilk regularly over a longer period.
