Costs

The travel health service costs $75 per client and includes the pre-travel assessment as well as the personalized travel plan and any necessary correspondence with primary care providers. This consultation fee is tax-free and can sometimes be covered by one’s health spending account. The pharmacist can assist clients in determining whether this is the case for them. Enrollment in the travel health service also entitles travelers to a reduced rate of $10 for travel-related injections administered in the store. Travel vaccines are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan or the Ontario Drug Benefit but are covered under most private drug plans. The consulting pharmacist will identify whether any necessary vaccines are covered.
