Travel Health
Everyone wants their travel experiences to be life-changing—in a good way. Before you leave on a trip, it’s important to plan ahead so that you can relax and enjoy yourself while away. We offer comprehensive travel health consultations to ensure you stay healthy and happy while away from home.
During a comprehensive travel consultation, our Certified Travel Health Pharmacists will:
- recommend vaccines and medications to prevent and treat travel-related illness
- provide personalized advice on how to travel with your medications
- contact your doctor for necessary prescription medications
- give you advice on avoiding travelers’ diarrhea and other advice on staying safe while travelling
- administration of vaccines, by our Certified Injection Pharmacists
- provide you with an up-to-date, country specific travel health report
The ideal time to have a consultation is at least 6 to 8 weeks before you travel. Travel vaccines vary by destination and some must be given 4 to 6 weeks before travel to be effective, however, if you are leaving on short notice, it is not too late to benefit from a travel health consultation.
Pharmasave Grand Forks is officially designated by the Public Health Agency of Canada as a Yellow Fever Vaccination Center. Only officially designated facilities are authorized to administer this vaccine which is required and/or recommended for travel to many countries in South America and Africa.
