Al Ladak

Pharmacist

Al was born in Tanzania and moved to Canada in 1983. Over the years he received an education from the University of Alberta where he received a BSc in Pharmacy, worked at numerous pharmacies throughout Canada, and took over ownership of Forest Pharmacy in 2007 with his wife Sandy. Al enjoys working at Forest Pharmasave and appreciates how the staff and customers have welcomed him into the store, and into the community. He says that “it is almost as if I have been invited into a family – they even make me food!” Outside of work Al spends time with his daughter and his wife, and says that the hobby which takes up most of his time is…work.

Sandy

Operation and Administration

Since 2007 when Sandy and her husband Al took over the store, Sandy has been in charge of marketing, advertising and human resources for Forest Pharmasave, and has enjoyed every minute of it. Sandy also attends gift shows to help choose products to sell in the store – she is a self-proclaimed Jack-of-all-trades! Sandy received Honours in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and she likes to travel with her family to places like Africa, India, and Mexico.

Pam

Pharmacy Assistant

Pam is officially the longest-serving employee at Forest Pharmasave, since 1987. She claims to have walked through the front door more times than any other employee! She grew up in the area and says that “because it is a small town, anybody will do anything for you”. She loves that she knows many of the customers who enter the store by name, and enjoys the interaction with her fellow community members. Pam has a college diploma in business and enjoys golf, reading, and gardening.

Caroll

Pharmacy Assistant

Caroll’s history at Forest Pharmasave is broken up by a 16-year long gap. In 1980 she worked at the store for one year, and then came back in 1996 to continue her employment! Caroll was born and raised in the area and is “never going to leave! Except maybe in the winters sometime.” She loves Forest and has a huge family, most of who live in the area. Outside of work Caroll enjoys gardening, flowers, crocheting, and spending time with her grandkids.

Joanne

Customer Service

23 wonderful years is how long Joanne has been working at Forest Pharmasave. She attributes her longevity at the store to the customers – many of which she knows by name. She also receives a lot of joy from helping people find what they want even if it means making a call to a supplier and placing an order, and looking up new products to sell in the store. Joanne has lived in Forest all her life and in her free time enjoys going horseback riding on the trails throughout the area, on her own horse of course!

Jackie

Pharmacy Assistant

Jackie grew up in Forest and has worked at Forest Pharmasave since 2010. Jackie loves a challenge and says quite excitably that “it is an amazing feeling when she solves problem!” This is why she works at Forest Pharmasave, because the challenge is energizing and keeps her on her toes. From interesting prescriptions to fill, to the challenge of finding the proper information about a customer’s medication – this is what she enjoys. Jackie took the Pharmacy Technician program at Lambton College and enjoys camping, fishing, and reading.

Valerie

Customer Service

Valerie has been at Forest Pharmasave since 2009 and enjoys working with the customers to make sure they find what they need, and to ensure they have a pleasant experience from the moment they walk through the door. She also likes the small town feel that Forest Pharmasave provides. Outside of work, Valerie enjoys gardening, baking, boating and fishing. Just recently she caught a salmon on Lake Huron with her Grandson that was 13 pounds, probably one of the bigger fish she has ever caught!

Brenda

Customer Service

Brenda started working at Forest Pharmasave in November 2013. She enjoys working with the staff and helping customers when they come into the store. Everyone is so friendly. Brenda enjoys baking, scrapbooking, reading and making quilts out of old jeans. She also enjoys spending time up north at her cottage with her family and friends.
