Store Merchandiser – Ontario

Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the opening, transition, renovation and remerchandising for new and operating Pharmasave stores throughout the province of Ontario, with the majority in the GTA and surrounding area, and with occasional travel to the Atlantic Provinces. This position is primarily Monday to Friday with minimal evening/weekend requirements as needed to meet project deadlines.

Location

The candidate will service stores throughout Ontario and occasionally in Atlantic Canada. When not on the road, the candidate may work from their home office. Occasional travel to our Region office in Markham will also be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of retail merchandising principles
  • Assist in all aspects of a new store opening/renovation in collaboration with other departments
  • Support, maintain and communicate project schedule and milestones in collaboration with the store owner and other team members
  • Develop merchandising plans and electronic opening orders (with or without a plan-o-gram)
  • Organize all shipping and delivery schedules to align with the project timelines
  • Receive and unload shipments (including skids and boxes)
  • Install signs, displays and shelving using hand and power tools
  • Print and install retail labels
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure Pharmasave standards are adhered to
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Retail merchandising experience is preferred
  • Extensive travel by car throughout Ontario with some required overnight stays
  • Occasional travel to the Atlantic provinces with some overnight stays
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle is required
  • Able and comfortable working alone on a regular basis
  • Full range of body motion required, while lifting items weighing up to 30lbs (above shoulders, twisting, bending, climbing ladder while balancing items in hands)
  • Medium to heavy lifting required; up to 30 lbs. daily. Examples: lifting totes, boxes, products, shelves, interior store sign, store equipment and hand-held tools
  • Lifting and installing shelving 4’ in length (weighing up to 11 lbs.)
  • Extensive standing while placing products on/off shelving
  • Comfortable using hand-held tools
  • Working on a site under construction, may be dusty
  • MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) experience is preferred

Salary

Base salary $50,000- 55,000, bonus, RRSP, comprehensive benefits package and vehicle allowance. Work-related expenses including gas and accommodations are reimbursed.
