Regional Pharmacy Innovation Manager

As a key member of the Western team, the Regional Pharmacy Innovation Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer, Western Region for developing new pharmacy business opportunities, building partnerships with existing and future members, vendor partners, government, pharmacy & health professionals, and provide ongoing pharmacy operational support to our stores, thereby ensuring the success of their retail businesses and the Pharmasave Brand.

You will work with the National Pharmacy Innovation Director and other Region Pharmacy Teams to determine the direction of Pharmasave pharmacy innovation nationally. In addition, you will identify the unique needs of our Region franchisees and coordinate Region-specific programs, which compliment national programs and adhere to Pharmasave Standards.

You will be required to fully educate and assist store owners, and pharmacy staff in rolling out all Pharmasave programs and you will involve Region Operations Coordinators where appropriate, to enable their assistance in store level implementation.

You will coordinate training programs to owners and pharmacy staff in areas such as specialty and Professional Services, consultations, community seminars and other professional and technical pharmacy-related operations programs. Through store visits and appropriate communications systems you will provide support and recommendations to owners and staff, focusing on workflow and dispensary efficiencies and determining any additional individual store needs.

The membership will look to you to provide current news affecting their businesses. You will be the professional liaison for the Western Region with organizations such as the ACP, RxA, UofA and other government and industry organizations, as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, Western Region.

On an occasional basis or during emergencies, you will be called upon to provide relief pharmacist coverage at a store, offering you an invaluable front-line opportunity to better understand the Pharmasave program.

• Be a Pharmacist licensed to practice in Alberta
• Be a highly motivated individual who has outstanding operational, leadership and decision making capabilities and can work effectively in a team or alone
• Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Possess superior written and verbal communication skills, with a good command of the English language.
• Exceptional computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
• Be prepared to develop and deliver presentations to various audiences on select topics
• Ability to maintain focus on individual projects
• Ability to analyze business data and possess a strong financial acumen
• Be experienced in retail pharmaceutical systems & dispensing procedures
• A minimum of 5 years Retail Pharmacy Management experience is preferred
• Ability to maintain the optimum balance between the profession of pharmacy and the business of pharmacy
• Prior knowledge of Kroll, injection training certification, APA and compounding experience would be a definite asset
• Strong customer / patient satisfaction orientation
• Be willing to actively participate in store and staff recruitment as required
• The applicant must be bondable, possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
