Pharmacy Technology Coordinator

Position Title: Pharmacy Technology Coordinator
Location: Pharmasave Drugs (National) Ltd. (Langley, BC)
Type: Full time 

Pharmasave’s National office is seeking a Pharmacy Technology Coordinator to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced Business Technology team. Pharmacy Technology Coordinator will effectively facilitate & monitor resources to balance the most efficient use of technology to bolster pharmacy operations. The role requires excellent coordination in delivering relevant training materials and training sessions in multiple formats, and facilitating store systems installation, implementations, and conversions.  The position involves coordinating all issues relating to pharmacy technology operations.  This requires effective communication with all stakeholders in the Pharmasave environment including vendors, regions, members, and store staff.  We are looking for someone who should have product knowledge, technical aptitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an eagerness to learn and grow professionally. The successful candidate will be working under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technology Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Vendor Management:

  • Work with Pharmasave preferred pharmacy software vendor (TELUS Health) program manager to manage Kroll installation schedules for all installs, conversions and upgrades.
  • Work as liaison between vendor and store to ensure issues are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Create and maintain proper documentation to ensure that major service issues are tracked and documented.
  • Work with preferred hardware vendors to ensure Pharmasave owners get optimal value from hardware investments and facilitate hardware ordering where necessary. Communicate updates and changes to preferred hardware vendor’s programs.
  • Work with preferred hardware vendors to maintain central database of hardware configurations deployed in Pharmasave system.
  • Assisting with investigating common issues, regarding store systems, installation, network, support, etc., and escalating issues to management where necessary.
  • Work closely with Kroll program manager to monitor the release of specific software enhancements.

Training:

  • Provide consultation and advice to regional operation staff when requested on Pharmacy technology issues related to software, hardware and technology operations.
  • Build and provide to regions and stores documentation on how to optimally use the Kroll system.
  • Advise and provide consulting to Store owners, regional operations staff, and Pharmasave National staff on Pharmacy Technology related issues.

Project Coordination:

  • Maintain, monitor, and provide reports from a national database of stores, pharmacy software versions, and required updates for planning.
  • Develop and manage effective project plans for all approved projects.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication of goals and expectations.
  • Facilitate pharmacy IT projects to ensure results delivered on time and within scope.

What you should have:

  • Experience working with Kroll pharmacy application
  • Relevant experience working in a Help Desk environment an asset
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Ability to understand technical business processes
  • Must be a “people person” with good communication skills
  • Ability to utilize database systems, spreadsheets and word processing software is essential
  • Good writing/documentation, analytical, communication and organizational skills
  • The ability to facilitate meetings between vendors and staff is essential
  • Retail operational experience is an asset
  • Post-secondary, certificate education or related technical training an asset
