The Pharmacy Manager reports to the Store Owner and is responsible for ensuring that the pharmacy and all pharmacy staff operate under the legal requirements as defined by the provincial regulatory body with respect to items such as, but not limited to, all pharmacy practice and operational policies and procedures, training, quality assurance, risk management, and certain business administration functions.
The Pharmacy Manager is also responsible for ensuring a safe and productive work environment that delivers appropriate patient care and customer service. It is the Pharmacy Manager’s responsibility to understand, support, and manage the roles of other pharmacy team members. In addition to dispensing services, the pharmacy may also offer other health care services such as, but not limited to, administering injections, medication reviews, minor ailment assessments, and prescription adaptations. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for leading these services and working with the Owner(s) and the rest of the pharmacy team to determine which services the pharmacy will offer, what training is needed, and develop an implementation plan.
