Pharmacist – Salt Spring Island

Pharmasave Salt Spring Island is hiring a full-time Staff Pharmacist. We are looking for a pharmacist who will enjoy being part of our vibrant island community and developing relationships with patients and customers. You will be exercising your full scope of practice by prescribing for minor ailments, adapting/extending prescriptions, and performing medication reviews. You will not be expected to meet any quotas.

Hours of operation are 9am-6pm Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday, and 11am-5pm Sunday.

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Checking prescriptions for accuracy
• Counseling on prescription medications
• OTC counseling / health management consulting
• Collaborate with other members of the pharmacy team
• Collaboration with pharmacy assistant to accurately dispense prescription medications
• Proficient in professional services (medication reviews, injections, adaptations)
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
• Certificate of Injection for Drug Administration
• OAT certification
• First Aid/CPR
• Proficiency in Kroll
• Good communication skills (both oral and written)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Friendly and kind to both coworkers and clients
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
