Pharmasave Qualicum Beach is hiring a full-time or part-time Pharmacist. Be part of a team working together in an extremely friendly and positive environment with a focus on professional services.

Hours of operation are 9am-6pm Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday, and 10am-5pm Sunday.

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Checking prescriptions for accuracy
• Conduct medication reviews and other professional services
• Collaborate with other members of the pharmacy team
• Dispensing medications to clients, and inform them of side effects
• Performing clinical services (medication/vaccine administration, medication reviews, prescription adaptations)
• Providing patient counselling
• Completing appropriate documentation
• Other duties as required
• Provide pharmacological information by responding to all healthcare professionals in the patient’s circle of care
• Provide information on medication regimens including counselling on prescriptions and over the counter/behind the counter products
• Ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with legislation and standards of practice including narcotic and controlled drug records
• Participate in inventory control processes ensuring accurate perpetual inventory records
• Support the Pharmacy Management in supervision and training of support staff
• Engage and participate in expanded scope of Professional Services ensuring patient focused services as deemed appropriate for the patient
• Minor Ailments Prescribing
• Interest in Pharmaceutical Compounding

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing
• OAT Certification
• Injection Certification
• Good communication skills (both oral and written)
