National Pharmacy Program Manager (maternity leave coverage)

Founded in 1981 and now with over 770 stores across Canada, Pharmasave has focused on building a national platform of community-based retail outlets designed to provide exceptional patient-centred healthcare, medication advice, drug store products and customer service.

We are looking for an energetic, creative and detail-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and takes pride in their career to work in our fast-paced office in Langley, BC.

This is a full-time temporary position, from April/May 2021 to July 2022.

The successful candidate will join our close-knit team and become a key contributor to our Pharmacy Innovation department.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Leads group members; aims to align goals and projects across the country; utilizes each person’s skill sets optimally; provides support for team members as required; fosters a cooperative, motivated, and outcomes-oriented team to achieve the optimal use of organization resources.
• Manages development and maintenance of Pharmacy Innovation programs and resources and supports pharmacy technology projects as needed. This includes research, strategy development, project management, planning, deployment, plus inventory management/distribution where applicable.
• Identifies opportunities for pharmacist specialization or certification and provide education and tools for pharmacists to take advantage of these opportunities.
• Supports pharmacy marketing and communication strategies contributing to organization goals, including research, copy writing and other content development, and editing/reviewing. Plans and implements effective communications via multiple channels in collaboration with other departments as required.
• Manages pharmacy team participation in Pharmasave’s annual conference and buying show and facilitates pharmacy vendor relations and support sponsorship funding and coordinating the Pharmacy Expo and CE sessions with support of the Pharmacy Innovation Team.
• Builds relationships and collaborates with vendors, consultants, and other external and internal stakeholders on various types of program projects and/or project sponsorship.
• Develops employees through direct performance feedback and job coaching; conducts regular performance appraisals with each employee.
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date project files and digital records.
• Provides a budget for related annual costs of projects.

Job Requirements, Skills and Competencies
• Superior communication and research skills
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time
• Ability to manage and supervise others
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Collaborative approach and strong team player
• Management experience in a high-paced office environment
• University degree in pharmacy
• Registered as a pharmacist in good standing with at least one Canadian Provincial Regulatory Body
• Minimum of 3 years experience in retail pharmacy where positions have become progressively more senior in scope and responsibility
