Pharmasave Redvers and Pharmsave Kipling is hiring a full time and/or part-time Pharmacist. Legacy Pharmacies is looking to partner with a full time or part time floating staff pharmacist between Kipling and Redvers in Southeastern Saskatchewan. Applicant must be willing to travel, however compensation will be provided for travel. This position will have a very flexible schedule which the applicant can take advantage of to maintain a great work / life balance.
Legacy Pharmacies is a grassroots Saskatchewan-based company that currently owns and operates 6 pharmacies in the province. We are 100% owned and operated by pharmacists, all of which are graduates from the University of Saskatchewan. Hours of operation at Redvers and Kipling are 9am-5:30pm Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday, closed Sunday and all stat holidays.
Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Checking prescriptions for accuracy
- Conduct medication reviews and other professional services
- Collaborate with other members of the pharmacy team
- Dispensing medications to clients, and inform them of side effects
- Performing clinical services (medication/vaccine administration, medication reviews, prescription adaptations)
- Work closely with prescriptions team to combat substance use disorders
- Providing patient counselling
- Completing appropriate documentation
- Other duties as required
- Provide pharmacological information by responding to all healthcare professionals in the patient’s circle of care
- Provide information on medication regimens including counselling on prescriptions and over the counter/behind the counter products
- Ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with legislation and standards of practice including narcotic and controlled drug records
- Participate in inventory control processes ensuring accurate perpetual inventory records
- Support the Pharmacy Management in supervision and training of support staff
- Engage and participate in expanded scope of Professional Services ensuring patient focused services as deemed appropriate for the patient
- Preference will be given to applicants that tend to focus on clinical services and patient interactions, however this is not a requirement
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the SCPP or is anticipating being licensed by the SCPP within a year
- Certificate of Injection for Drug Administration
- Good communication skills (both oral and written)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Continued professional competency through ongoing participation in professional development activities
- Professional attitude and the ability to communicate well with customers, co-workers, suppliers, and other members of the healthcare community
