Meet Our Staff
Colin Chan – Pharmacy Manager and Owner
Colin graduated from the UBC pharmacy program with a degree in 1984. He has been a pharmacist for 37 years and started working in Brentwood Bay in 1989. Colin has owned Pharmasave Brentwood Bay with Joe DuQuesnay since 2001.
Working almost his entire career in Brentwood Bay has allowed Colin to get to know most of his customers by their first names. Colin enjoys the clinical side of being a pharmacist and helping his patients improve their lives.
In his spare time, Colin loves to travel as much as he can. His interests include hockey, golf, pickleball, and spending as much time as he can with his wife, sons, and their dog Coco.
Joe DuQuesnay – Pharmacist and Owner
Joe graduated with a BSc from the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science in which he was trained in a community pharmacy. He has worked for 33 years as a pharmacist at Pharmasave and has owned Pharmasave Brentwood Bay with Colin Chan since 2001.
Joe’s pharmaceutical interests include pharmaceutical compounding, therapeutic nutrition, and holistic health. Joe enjoys helping patients collaborate with their health care providers.
In his spare time, he enjoys recreational boating, sailboat racing, martial arts, and archery.
Mila Saba – Pharmacist
Mila completed university in 2000 in Russia and got her Canadian pharmacist license in 2006. She originally worked in Yukon, Nunavut, and Alberta, and started working at Pharmasave Brentwood Bay in 2016.
Mila likes the clinical part of being a pharmacist and finds it rewarding to help her patients in finding/suggesting possible solutions to their health problems. Mila enjoys the friendly and fun atmosphere amongst her teammates at Pharmasave Brentwood Bay, which is possibly the best team she has worked with within her career as a pharmacist. Outside of work, Mila enjoys going for long walks, gardening with her Mom, and watching her daughter’s horseback riding.
Greg Fong – Pharmacist
Greg has worked at Pharmasave Brentwood Bay since 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy at UBC and completed a Residency in Community Pharmacy at UBC in 2000. He graduated from SFU with a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Biology.
Greg’s pharmaceutical interests include compounding and sports medicine. As a pharmacist at Pharmasave Brentwood Bay, he enjoys being able to improve the health of his patients. In his spare time, Greg enjoys doing photography, traveling, target archery, and good food.
Darren Darbyshire – Front Store Manager
Darren has been at Pharmasave for over twenty-five years in various roles, and at the Brentwood Bay store since 2018.
Darren likes all the different kinds of people that he gets to meet and interact with over the course of a week, whether they are customers, co-workers, or delivery people.
Darren’s interests include his family, fitness, photography, and golf.
Lisa Woodward – Front Store Assistant Manager
Lisa has been with Pharmasave Brentwood Bay since 2016 and took on the role of Assistant Manager in December 2020. She enjoys the warm, welcoming environment of Pharmasave and enjoys working in the community.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys singing, hiking, and spending time with her family.
