COVID-19 TEST

COVID-19 Testing Services

 

  • We provide COVID-19 testing for Travel or Work purposes ( For a Fee – Certificate with results is issued by the Lab – See below).
  • We also provide COVID-19 testing for Close Contacts and High Risk Patients and Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Patients ( No Fee- Publicly Funded – see eligibility below )

1- Private Test for Travel or Work (For A Fee):


We provide 2 types of Private COVID-19 tests for Travel or Work purposes:

1 – RT-PCR Test (Nasal Swab) – (Regular and Expedited)

2 – Antigen Test (Nasal Swab).

Please confirm directly with your airline or your employer which type of COVID-19 Test they require before booking.

1)   RT-PCR Test (Cost $150 CDN + HST)

    • Required as a prerequisite by some countries for travel purposes or by some employers for work purposes
      • Please confirm directly with your Airline or Employer
    • Please bring the following to your appointment:
      • Government issued Photo ID  (Healthcare Card, Copy of Passport, Driver’s License)
    • Click here to book your RT- PCR COVID-19 TEST.
      • If you cannot find an appointment at the time and date that suits you in the above booking calendar , please email: marselluspharmasave@gmail.com with the date and time
    • COVID-19 RT-PCR Test Results:
      • Results are released from our Lab within 36 – 48 hours.
      • Send an e-mail to  marselluspharmasave@gmail.com  to request your results to be released via e-mail (ONLY if you have taken the test at Marsellus Pharmasave)
      • A Hardcopy of the RT-PCR Test Results can be picked up in person from the pharmacy within regular business hours, once results are released.
        • A Hard Copy of the Lab Test Report can be stamped by the Pharmacy upon request and picked up in person during regular business hours. 
    • Expedited RT-PCR Testing (Results by 10 am- next day)
      • Results are emailed to you the following day by 10 am
      • Cost for the expedited service is $300 + HST
        • Book a regular RT-PCR test online (Click Here)
        • Advise the pharmacist upon arrival that you will be getting the Expedited RT-PCR test

 

2)   Antigen Test (Cost $80 CDN + HST)

    • Required as a prerequisite by some countries for travel purposes ( Many EU countries and the US ) or by some employers for work purposes
      • Please confirm eligibility of Antigen Testing directly with your Airline or Country of destination
    • Please bring the following to your appointment:
      • Government issued Photo ID  (Healthcare Card, Copy of Passport, Driver’s License)

    • COVID-19 Antigen Test Results:
      • Results are released from our Lab within 24 hours.
      • Send an e-mail to  marselluspharmasave@gmail.com  to request your results to be released via e-mail (ONLY if you have taken the test at Marsellus Pharmasave)
      • A Hardcopy of the Antigen Test Results can be picked up in person from the pharmacy within regular business hours, once results are released.

2- Public-Funded Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Covid Tests

Medical/ Surgical masks are mandatory for all individuals entering the store. If you are symptomatic, you may be asked to drop off your healthcare card and wait in your car until called upon to minimize exposure of others. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Eligibility for publicly funded PCR COVID-19 test :

Eligibility for Publicly funded COVID test is set by the Ministry of Health in Ontario, and may change. See below for the current eligibility for the publicly funded COVID test.

    • Asymptomatic individuals who are:

      • Contacts of confirmed or suspected outbreaks in
        • Hospitals, long-term care, retirement homes or other congregate living settings
        • Other settings as directed by the local public health unit
      • Health Care workers, Staff, residents, essential care providers, and visitors to
        • Hospitals
        • Congregate living settings, including (long-term care, retirement homes, First Nation elder care lodges, group homes, shelters, hospices, temporary foreign worker settings, and correctional institutions)
      • Members of First Nation, Inuit, and Métis communities
      • Travelling into First Nation, Inuit or Metis communities for work
      • Being admitted to or transferred from a congregate living setting (e.g. hospitals, long term care, group home, rehabilitation)
      • Travelling out-of-country for medical services with prior written approval from the General Manager, OHIP (plus one accompanying individual)
    • Symptomatic Individuals who are:
      • Eligible for Asymptomatic covid-19 test – As Listed Above; OR
      • Students and Educational staff (elementary and secondary schools) – advised by their school; OR
      • Homeless or underhoused; OR
      • 70 years of age or older who have a risk factor including:
        • obesity (BMI ≥ 30)
        • dialysis or stage 5 kidney disease (eGFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2)
        • diabetes
        • cerebral palsy
        • intellectual disability of any severity
        • sickle cell disease
        • receiving active cancer treatment
        • solid organ or stem cell transplant recipients
  • Patients are considered symptomatic if they have any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:
    • Fever and/or chills; OR
    • Cough; OR
    • Shortness of breath; OR
    • Decrease or loss of taste of smell; OR
    • Two of more of:
      • Runny nose/nasal congestion
      • Headache
      • Extreme fatigue
      • Sore throat
      • Muscle aches/joint pain
      • GI symptoms
  • Asymptomatic and Symptomatic  (Publicly Funded) COVID-19 Test Results :

You must isolate while waiting for your test results. If your COVID-19 test is positive, the Pharmacy or the public health unit will contact you. COVID-19 test results are released within 2-4 days. Please use your Green & White Health Card to check your results online by Clicking Here.
